Heading home soon and I want to jot some thoughts about my trip before I forget them.
First off, the Conyers are probably the coolest, most gracious family I've met. I have had a wonderful time here, as Bill and Linda are fantastic hosts. The party they threw for Lorena and Timmy was a great amount of fun. The coolest part was when we had everything gathered at the picnic table to make s'mores, but realized that no one had thought to cut any sticks for roasting marshmallows on. So Bill and Jenny trot into the blacksmith barn and stoke up the fire. After a bit of banging about, out they come with a couple of beautiful and incredibly functional wrought iron marshmallow sticks that they had whipped up!
Other high points of the weekend include hanging with Jenny while she made the wedding cakes (again); going to Meijer (silent 'j') with Kathy (twice!) for panties (not for me, obviously), a toothbrush, a collar, and flashing nipple lights; Lorena sweetly toasting *me* at the reception; the Conyers women leading the table in the shark song at breakfast; et al, et al. Great weekend, great people, great booze.
The worst part of the trip was waking up this morning (with just a slight champagne hangover) without my sweetie. I miss him dearly. But I'll see him in a few hours and that will make me so very happy.
