Whew. Now that was a busy past couple of weeks.
C&I got all moved in to our great new house, thanks to the greatest group of friends in the entire world. We couldn’t have done it without them! And while it really is starting to feel like home, many boxes are still packed, and there’s nothing on the walls. We don’t even really have a phone yet, damn Bell South. I called the house from my cell phone once this past weekend to see if we had service yet, and some woman that I don’t know answered. That was kind of surreal.
And Lorena and Timmah’s wedding was this past weekend. What a grand occasion! The festivities began on Wednesday, and didn’t end until Sunday evening. It was a fantastic affair, and the wedding itself was bright, beautiful, and bountiful! We all had a most wonderful time, and the bride and groom were just beaming the whole day(s).
Meeting Tim’s family was a blast in and of itself. They are all very cool, very fun people. At the wedding reception, just as I was really getting to hang out with Tim’s sister Kathy, I was thinking, ‘Gosh, I really like these folks, and I’m never going to get to see them again.’ That made me kind of sad, until a few minutes later I remembered that I’m going to the wedding reception in lovely South Bend, Indiana in a couple of weeks!
And now that things are slowing down for *me*, Chris and Robbie are taking classes until the late hours of the night all this week. But that’s giving me some time to unpack more boxes, do more laundry, so some scrapbooking, and go to karaoke with Kelly. Gotta practice my song. And more than enough time to figure out how to use the DVR on the digital cable – my new favorite toy.
