Moving. Blah. Again. In my early Gainesville years, I would move every 9-12 months. I lived in like fifteen places the first ten years I was here. Then I got to move into this great house that I just loved. I would drive by and say, 'I'd love to live in that house!' So I did. After living there by myself for a while, I spread out and made myself comfortable and decorated it nicely and just enjoyed the hell out of it. I had decided that being single was fun and groovy and liberating and I knew that this lil ole house was just perfect for just lil ole me and my thirteen thousand cats. We’d be happy there forever and kids would start to cross the street when walking by so that the Crazy Old Cat Lady wouldn’t eat them.

Then came Chris. And my whole life changed. For the better, of course.

As disappointed as I am to be leaving my faux fireplace (which is actually going with us and being transformed into a bookshelf) and the green striped wall and my secret garden, I’m just as excited to be joining the love of my life with our new abode’s hardwood floors and big ass sliding glass doors and party til you drop back porch. As we’ve boxed things up and moved furniture out and painted the striped wall, returning the house to the blank slate it was when I moved in, I’ve found that mostly what I loved about the house was that it was mine, and it looked like mine. So the Satellite of Love will look like mine and Chris’s in no time at all, and I’m sure I’ll love it just as much. And I’ll invite you all over for a party so that you can see how very me it can be.

Speaking of must see films starring Christopher Walken, C & J&L told me of seeing the preview of this film when they got back from seeing T3 last night. Oh, life is so very, very good.

Earlier tonight, my long lost cousin, The Atomic Liver, reminded me about the upcoming re-make of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, being directed by Tim Burton (Scheduled to start work on it in 2004, after he finishes the stop-motion animation flick The Corpse Bride.). Or is the movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and the book Charlie…? I always get those mixed up. Anyhoo, I started to write a bit about it, then decided that I was a little too tipsy and just got off the ‘net.

So I watered the plants and sat down in front of the telly, flipping channels. And what the hell do you think happens to be on the Family Channel? (Not that I would ever watch the Family Channel, unless it was the Osbourne family…) You guessed it. Charlie/Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I grabbed another beer, and a chocolate low-carb power bar (my mouth was watering with the thought of chocolate), and now I have to write about it.

Push aside the rumors that you heard a year or so ago about Marilyn Manson playing Willy Wonka. Not a chance. What I’ve read says that the coveted role is up for grabs by either Michael Keaton or Christopher Walken. CW as WW. Wow. My greatest hope is that CW plays WW, and instead of having him sing a lot, they have him dance a lot. Have you ever seen CW dance?! He did a tiny tap-dance bit in Joe Dirt, a stunning film of cultural significance. But to really get a load of CW’s true form, check out Fat Boy Slim’s video of Weapon of Choice. The entire video is simply CW dancing to FBS’s wonderful mix. Wonderful dancer, this man. Wonderful, I tell you. Who wudda thunk it?

So this is my new must see film. No matter how often Kelly teases Lorena about dressing as an Oompa Loompa for Lorena’s wedding. I just wish I had a mink hat like Veruca Salt’s to wear on opening night.

You know it's time to blog again when the most recent two links to your archives pull up a 404 error because there just isn't anything there. But I *am* here. So there. I just haven't taken any time lately to mess around on the 'puter except for paying the bills.

Lots of stuff going on! C&I are moving to a great house in Millhopper on August 1st. We've been packing and looking at dining room tables and beds. Shopping for a new used car for Chrises because his blew a head gasket. Trying to finish up the skirt I am making to wear to Lorena&Timmah's wedding. Also wondering what kind of top I'll wear since the one I purchased isn't going to match the skirt at all. Lots of other things to do for the wedding, too: practice hennaing, practice the ceremony, find a cool book to write the ceremony into. Thinking constantly of techniques on slipcovering, since I offered to make not one, but *two* fitted slipcovers for the couches in the new pad. And what to get Chris for his birthday? I have some ideas, but haven't done any hard core shopping yet. And there are plenty of movies to watch in between all of this, and music to clog to, and beers to drink at Joe&Laura's!

And I am now making a concentrated effort to write a few lines more often than not. I'm mostly excited about that because Chris, wonderful graphics artist that he is, is helping me re-vamp the look of the site/blog. Expect something much sexier than black on grey, thanks to Lorena sending me a link to these wonderful backgrounds!
