I've been to the Dali museum in St. Pete, and I'm even friends with a docent. But I did not know that these existed until today:

Progress, at last
I unpacked about half a dozen boxes tonight. Even though C&I moved into our new home more than three months ago, I had made no headway on getting my 'craft room' organized. It had become a dumping ground for all of the unpacked boxes with which we knew not what to do. Since the dining room still looks as if we just brought our possessions here a couple of days ago, we figured piles and stacks of things weren't obvious if they were tucked away in that last bedroom at the end of the hallway. And the cats really enjoy having towers of boxes and fabric and shelves to sleep upon. But now that I've created this chaos in their rest area, I feel *so* much better, even if they don't. I feel productive, and more cozy. I feel a little more like I live here. I'll sleep a little deeper tonight. And you know how hard it is for me to sleep. ;-)

Carnivale
Did *anyone* on Carnivale last night *not* get laid?
Wednesday, November 12, 2003
I have panty lines today, and I don’t care. While I don’t quite feel like shit, I don’t feel wonderful, either. The scratchy throat I had yesterday has gone full blown. The coughing fit I had on my way to work didn’t help it feel any better. I’m carrying a dose of Cold-Ease in my pocket today, just in case this cold tries to get the best of me. I also see plenty of hot tea in my near future.
So that last thing I wanted to put my bootilicious ass in this morning was a cute little thong. Nor did I care to jump into my sexy little boy cut panties that Scott seems to enjoy seeing God wear. So I dove to the bottom of the drawer and pulled out a pair of old faithfuls: white cotton bikini cuts with leopard print. Full bottom coverage! Though the presence of these semi-briefs won’t stave off the cold, I feel much better today. So much better.

Another quiz
This one stolen from Kelly

Your element is Air. You are an artistic person
with a unique sense of style. You are
intelligent; although prone to wonder in
thought which, prevents you from paying full
attention to most things, constantly active and
most likely like to sing. Constantly moving the
air is a force of nature. One moment you can be
a breeze the next a tornado.

Hrm, perhaps that's why I took to kite flying so quickly...

And while we're on the subject of quizzes
I'm a 'butch chick' too, Lorena. I guess that's why we went over so well as a couple that year at Necronomicon, eh?
I'm not thrilled with this...
...but neither am I disappointed:
Which author's fiction am I?

Anne Rice is writing your life. Go you goth girl,
go.

I have the greatest friends in the world!
You know how I know that? Because not a single one of them has said, ‘What the fuck did you do to your hair? That looks like shit!’ You see, my hair is mauve right now. (Robbie, read as: a muted purpleish pink that is neither a natural, nor a punky hair color.) In an attempt to cover a beautiful shade of pink that I wore for Halloween (Unfortunately, pink hair is *not* in the office dress code.), I’ve used colors such as ‘Mocha’ and ‘Cherry Bomb’ to mutate my tresses to a color of which only a little old lady would be proud. Fortunately, all these dyes are temporary, and are washing out little by little. I hope to be a buxom blonde again soon. Well, I’ll be a blonde again, anyway.

"Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Took my baby away from me."
I vividly remember the first horror movie I ever saw in the theatre. It was _Halloween II_. I saw it with Barbie Helm at the two screen theatre a couple of blocks from our homes in Kingwood, West Virginia. After the show, with a great amounts of self control, we walked back to her house. Then I *ran* all the way to my home. My parents were downstairs in the family room watching whatever they watched on Saturday nights. Probably Hee Haw. I didn't want them to know that I was scared, so I just sat on the stairs and watched the TV from there. Mom asked me to go make popcorn. I wouldn't do it. The rest of the house was dark. Creepy. Scary. I was certain that Jason was in the kitchen waiting for me. So Daddy made popcorn, Mom comforted me on the couch, and I was pretty much ok after that. But it took me a couple of hours to convince the folks to allow me to go see _The Howling_ later that year.
The fear I felt that night was sheer joy compared to the terror that I felt an hour ago. The remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was the scariest movie I've ever seen. The blood and gore were the least that affected me. I've seen plenty of that in movies, and can laugh it off. But the tension that is carried throughout the film is done so thoroughly and for so long, my muscles were aching by the time we walked out of the theatre. I was shaking as the credits rolled. As I watched them it took all of my energy to pry my fingers from around C's arm. This movie fucking wore me out. There were no ups and downs, just ups ups ups. It's all a horror movie should be, and then some.
I loved it. Go see it.

New year, new look
Many, many thanks to my personal graphics guy (Similar to my 'own personal Jesus', but not quite the same.) for this beautiful new look. If you're having trouble seeing the margins due to your screen size, know that things'll be much better looking when that big Amazon graphic in the previous post gets archived.
It's been a great weekend, and it's not ending any time soon. Laura and I (with many thanks to Lorena and Kelly!) hosted a fabulous costume party on Friday night. My Tank Girl guise wasn't the hit of the show, but the folks who recognized the character said I did a top notch job. Saturday brought a lot of lying about on the couch, then the Annual Scary Movie Fest at R&K's. Contrary to my graphics guy's opinion, I *loved* _Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter_. Today we're going to see _Texas Chainsaw Massacre_ with J&L, so I'll try to remember to post a review of that. Tonight comes new Simpsons and Malcom, plus Carnivale on HBO!
Gotta run and buy some hair dye now. I'll fill you in on that story later. I hope you enjoy the new appearance!
