Um, hey!
Why, oh WHY, did no one tell me that Joaquin Phoenix is playing the lead role in the Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line? Is it because you didn't want to hear my constant screaming orgasms? Joaquin will be singing, fer chrissakes! I'll be in my bunk.
Well Fed
Happy birthday, SugarPlum! I love you more than sleeping in!

Supersize Me
Go see what Alton Brown has to say about the movie Supersize Me. Then go see the movie. You won't regret it.

Monty
Two and a half weeks into life with a dog, and no one has killed anyone else yet. The cats are even speaking to me again. Speaking to me, but not asking me out to lunch or anything.
Monty is a treasure to have! We are all getting used to the new schedule, and I think he is adapting faster than Chris or I am. He is a *very* good dog. He plays so well with others! He has met his cousins Zoe and Bridgett, and got along famously with them. He isn't too jumpy, doesn't dig in the trash, and doesn't chew on things that he shouldn't. Of course, he has his issues, but don't we all?
On to the photos! Who could ever resist this adorable pup?!

Proud Parents
The pet deposit has been paid, the paperwork is signed, and C&I spent a wedding's worth of champagne funds at PetCo last night. Tonight around 8pm Michelle will bring Monty, our first born child, to our house. Go on, you say? Ok, twist my arm. Ouch!
Monty seems to be a lab/basenji mix, picking up the best traits of both breeds. He is social and fun and smart! He is already crate trained and house broken. He knows sit, stay, down, come, and is learning roll over. He's a beautiful shade of brown, with a bit of darker ticking down his spine. He's not too big, not too small. He's perfect, and I'm looking forward to experiencing parenthood.
Wish us luck in this new venture, and look for pictures soon!

Happy long weekend!
Ahhh... the joy of a forthcoming long weekend. Gotta love it.
Yesterday we did some interesting stuff after work that you may or may not hear about later. Then J&L came over for some grillin' and chillin'. They brought the first Fangoria DVD, which was enjoyable. A bunch of short amateur/indie films, hosted by Rob Zombie. Who CUT OFF HIS HAIR! I mean, it's grown out, but it's, like, clean. I hate it. I like being afraid that a cockroach is going to crawl out of his locks at any given moment.
Today brings some bill paying, laundry, and house cleaning while Chris rides bikes with Chachi. At lunch time we're meeting the gang at Cabana Cafe to ply them with drinks and ask them for wedding favors. And I don't think we really have anything planned for the evening, so perhaps a nap will be in order (especially since we're up at an ungodly hour this morning), and some tv or dvd watching.
Tomorrow we'll have a nice breakfast, then head to Old Town for the day. I promise I won't come back with dreadlocks this time. Some fireworks that night, and we'll sleep over there, awaking to biscuits and gravy. Then we'll pick up Chris's mom in G'ville and drive her to south St. Pete. A good dinner will be in order, and we'll come home the same night.
Then back to work. Ugh. Don't want to think about that. So I won't. I smell coffee! Yum!
