We made it to Pittsburgh safe and sound. We'll get a bite with Will and Casey then head to Clarksburg to hook up with Jasmine!
They should *so* have airline karaoke! 'Next we have seat 39a singing These Boots Were Made for Walking!'
Heading to WV this morning. I zipped through security even with my knitting needles. The wait at Starbucks is twice as long as that at security!

“THE RULES: Each player of this game starts with the ‘6 weird things about you.’ People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave a comment that says ‘you are tagged’ in their comments and tell them to read your blog.”
Six weird things about me:
1. 99% of the time there is a song running through my head. Kind of like background music. The soundtrack to my life.
2. When I pass a bicyclist in my car, I always look for him in the rearview mirror to make sure I didn’t hit him.
3. I once lost a few pounds on a diet of cheese and vodka sours.
4. I have a large keloid scar on my left ear from a bad piercing incident. His name is Belial, after the co-joined twin in Basket Case. I’ve had him removed twice, but he keeps growing back. When I have him removed again, I might look into going ahead and having my ears pointed.
5. I only eat crackers salty side up.
6. I’ll fall asleep anywhere if I’m tired. Huge rock concert, on the back of a motorcycle… I’ve done it all.
Eh, I don’t like to pressure anyone, so no tagging. But please feel free to list any weird things about yourself in the comments! We’re all crazy here, you know. =)

And I wasn't even trying

Geek? Who me?
| Pure Geek 39 % Nerd, 69% Geek, 26% Dork |
| For The Record: A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia. A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one. A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions. You scored better than half in Geek, earning you the title of: Pure Geek. It's not that you're a school junkie, like the nerd, and you don't really stand out in a crowd, like the dork, you just have some interests that aren't quite mainstream. Perhaps it's anime, perhaps it's computers, perhaps it's bottlecaps, perhaps it's all of those and more. Your interests take you to events and gatherings that are filled with people you find unusual and beyond-the-pale, but you don't quite consider yourself "of that crowd." Instead, you consider yourself to be fairly normal. Which, you are. Congratulations! You're the one on the RIGHT! THE NERD? GEEK? OR DORK? TEST |

Today I died a little bit
Most obviously, EVOO is not a word. It isn't even an acronym. When people start saying, 'Eevooooo,' instead of, 'Eee vee oh oh,' I'll consider it a valid acronym. Before that, nope.
Secondly, and what has always bugged me to death about EVOO, is that Rachel (Can I call you Rachel?) always *always* follows, 'Eee vee oh oh,' with, 'Extra virgin olive oil.' This completely defeats that purpose of inventing ones own contraction since it takes her twice as long to use the word if she explains what it means each and every time.
Arrrrgh! Now I'm just too angry to think about it any longer! Argh!
Many thanks to Leah for pointing me to this article. And killing me just a little bit.

And I do loves me some new tattoo

Wow! That was so much fun!
Chris and I spent nearly five hours at Body Tech in Alachua last night. I got a Golden Snitch tattoo, and Chris got a dark mark. This is my... lessee... eighth tattoo, if you don't count the little scratched double heart that has since been covered up. About twelve and a half hours worth of ink! Anyhoo, it was a fantastic experience. I adore Wayne. C&I had such a good time chatting and laughing with him and feeling the burn. He has a light touch, and this tat didn't hurt in the same way as many of my other tattoos have. I felt like quite the trooper! It was sosososo nice to be able to lie back and relax instead of getting backwork done where I had to scoot to the back of a stool and bend over as far as I could. That was very uncomfortable, making the prone position I took last night so much more calming.
I am soooo very pleased with what Wayne did with the snitch design. The shading and highlights are going to come out beautifully. The detail that he put into this piece is amazing. He spent a lot of time thinking about it and drawing it, then took nearly two hours embedding it into my skin. Yesterday I couldn't wait to get it, and now I can't wait for it to heal! It's going to be so pretty! My last half a dozen or so tattoo sessions have been on my backpiece, so it will be very nice to be able to see my new tattoo often and admire it on a regular basis.
Because I don't use nearly enough of my allotted web space, I've uploaded all of the photos from our evening's adventure. Please go see them here.
Oh! I'll put a couple of the real snitch photos in there as a reference. And I would like to point out that the red shading under my snitch in the later photos are only red because of the bloodletting. These will be a very faint grey.
Tee!

Woah! Dude!
Speaking of bodmods, I've been thinking about a chestpiece lately. Something that I guess would be considered new school. Something to the tune of this woman's work. [Edited to add: Watch out for the blaring music!] And I'm thinking a skull with pigtails being the center of it, probably with pink bows at the base of the pigtails. I'm open to what will go around it, but tell me this: is a girly skull too passe nowadays?

My Weekend Thus Far
-----------
Chris' company holiday party was last night, and lemme tell you, those bio-implant folks know how to party down. Cocktail hour with munchies, open bar all night, killer mashed potatoes, and karaoke to boot! It was a lot of fun to get dressed up and go out. I was quite happy to realize that at the age of 38 I've finally learned how to put on make-up well! Congratulations to me!
-----------
As I was pulling out of my parking spot the post office on Friday, a cute geeky boy in a Superman shirt was looking at my car. I get that pretty often, and enjoy it. I'll smile or nod or whatever, and move on with my day. But dude waved me down. I stopped and rolled down my window. 'Do you mind if... um... I take a picture of your car?' Mind? Hell no! Most flattering thing that happened to me all day. Shit, reminds me I need to renew my tag pronto. I don't remember getting a notice in the mail this year (Should have gotten it in August), so I didn't even think about it until Chris noticed our expired tags last week.
------------
NaBloPoMo - I missed two days of blogging in November, but I enjoyed the experience! I'll most likely keep trying to at least post a sentence or two most every day, if only to keep in touch with my bloggerly side.
Typical conversation
Me: Sweetie, you're getting a Harry Potter tattoo. You'll still be a geek.
Chris: But it's the *dark* mark! It's *hiiis* mark!!!

Friday's Foodstuffs
Chris isn't a berry fan, so we decided to pick up on the corn in the pancakes and make a more savory meal out of them. Especially since we had them for dinner instead of breakfast. I cooked them up on Chris' kick-ass griddle, then topped them with cheddar cheese, sour cream, and a new product that I happened by in the grocery: Del Monte's Sante Fe Corn Savory Sides.
I know one should never photograph real food because it always looks like crap. But I'm kind of proud of the way these turned out, not being much of a cook and all. We liked 'em! We liked 'em a lot! And will probably have them again. I enjoyed them with the classic butter and syrup as well, but my favorite was just having the pancake with oodles of melted cheese on it.
