Comments

Just want to respond to a couple of comments I've received recently:

Talking about the Hot Tamale skirt at Here we go again, Alice said, 'Don't you worry about the way it'd hang?' I kind of do. I'm using a slick cotton yarn, and it's pretty heavy. But I'll line it (Probably buy a black slip and just sew it to the inside of the finished product.), and that will give it more stability. And I trust Jodi and her patterns!

On the same subject, Spinny Bunt said, 'What about duplicate stitch for the flames?' Honestly, my gut reaction was, 'EW! No way!', but that was immediately followed with the thought of, 'My gawd! That's fucking brilliant!' The more I think about it, the more I like it! I have a ton of little tiny balls of the red yarn, made from ripping out the intarsia. I was worried about having enough red to do the striping. And I've got a ton of black so I can do the whole skirt in black. I doubt if I'll be able to finish the duplicate stitch in time to wear the skirt to Necro, but I might be able to do it by Rhinebeck. Regardless, I think this is a go! Thanks for the idea!

On my Oi entry, Chris said, 'Wait! What? Did I miss your birthday??' No reason to be alarmed, people! You still have six shopping days until my birthday! C let me open my gift early because a) He knows that we need to use it asap; b) I was foaming at the mouth trying to guess what it was; and c) we're going to a very fancy dinner at the Melting Pot, so that's another gift, and why not spread it out, eh?

Red on yella, kill a fella brought out the snake dislikers, and I don't blame you one bit! I've gotten used to them in the past year and a half, but I was really freaking out for about two weeks after I saw that first coral snake out here. Denise, I'm glad I didn't mention the cotton mouth that we saw quite a few months ago! All curled up just a few feet from the main entrance to our house. That one scares the bejesus out of me, as if there is any bejesus left in me. But really, coral snakes are so small, and they really do just want to get the hell away from you. Not a bit worrisome.

Gotta go get ready for another day of yarn hauling. And some more painting. It was sooo nice to sleep in today! And soon all will be rolling right along at the shop! And then I'll quit my day job, and won't life be fun then?!
