So. We haven't been able to find this in Gainesville, but here it is in *WalMart* in conservative *Starke*? The Willie Nelson ice cream is turning over in it's recalled grave.

Freaky Deaky
I went to high school with this guy. Didn't know him well, but I think his father was our guidance counselor. Not much ever happens in lil ole Kingwood, WV, but when it does, I guess it's a doozy. My dad called me tonight to tell me about it. Dad said that Lori was also pregnant with Jimmy's child. Wow. Crazy crazy world. Here's an article with a mugshot.

Circus and Mexican food and beers and parties and circus and friends and fun! I'll send lots of photos to the blog, so watch this space to see all the fun we're having. Have a good weekend everyone!

Gotta get myself one of these, just for fun. Via ShinyShiny, who I love to death. And who are one of my only two TwitterFriends. So go Twitter and be my friend!

Knitting errata
I finished my Monkey Hanging from His Tail socks on Wednesday. But when I went to put them on for work on Thursday I realized that the cast off was so tight I could barely get the socks on my feet! Ack! I'll have to rip it out, add a few more rows of ribbing, and do a loose cast off. Brenda likes this one. Since her magic sock formula hasn't done me wrong yet, I'll give it a shot. I'll probably do it at S&B this weekend as, believe it or not, I'll need help on the half hitch increase. Half hitches was how I was taught to cast-on, but it's been so long since I've used that method that I don't remember how to do it at all. I suppose I could look it up on-line, but that's not as fun as learning from one's friends.
I've been thinking about goals a lot recently, and remembered that one of my goals for the last year or so has been to learn as much about different knitting techniques as I can. I've been working on the lace thing in my wee head and in practice on my poncho. And today I'm going to learn to do double knitting! Yay! I'm going to make this hotpad for my friend Cathy that will match the teapot handle coozie I made for her a few months ago (A special request from her) and the simple dishcloth that I whipped up for her this week. I'll make a second dishcloth (Using a new stitch-to-me, natch.) to complete the set. Only then will it be posted as a finished object.
Other than planning a super secret project for a special friend, that's what I've been up to! Off to double knit!

Oh Thank Gawd
How long have I been talking about needing one of these? How long people?! HOW LONG? I'll tell ya: A long freaking time.
I lose my beer at home all the time. Not because I'm drunk, but because I busy myself, walking about the house with my beer. I tend to put it down in one room and not remember to take it with me to the next room. With dogs having a much higher sense of smell than us measly humans, I tried to teach Monty to find my misplaced beers. But Monty would just excited because I was talking to him, and Chris got pretty annoyed with my constant bellows of, 'Where's my beer, Monty? Where's Momma's beer?'
It's not available yet, but I will be the first in line to buy the Beer Pager. I'll be happy, my dog will be happy, and my husband will be happy.
