Potter time

I just added the ribbon to the felted Cornelius Fudge Lime Green Bowler, and it looks great! It doesn't precisely fit Chris, but he said he'd still like to wear it to the movie next weekend. Granted, Fudge wears a black hat in the movies, but Potter readers will know what the dealio is.

Pattern: Felt Hat by Fiber Trends. This pattern is sized for a woman or a teen. I had to knit both a swatch and a prototype to make the hat to fit Chris' man-sized head. It's all about ratios. I'm glad I make the prototype first, as I forgot that ratios should apply to the number of rows as well as the number of stitches per round.

Yarn: Good old Cascade 220. Hasn't let me down yet. Color 8903. It's a pretty lime green.

Needles: Size 9 Addi circulars, then size 9 crappy ass plastic dpns that I hope I never have to use again.

Began: June 23, 2007

Finished: July 14, 2007

Remember, Knitsters

It's not a great idea to do your very first picot bind-off with really splitty yarn. That's black. At night. More at 11.

OMGOMG Lookatme!

So I was e-chatting with Chrissi about the Harry Potter movie (She saw it last night, I'm holding out for next weekend.) and wanted to send her a link of this cool lightening bolt scar that I saw on a chick's forehead. Pretty cool, eh? So I saw a link in the comments about pre-ordering the new book or something, and clicked on it and read most of the article. And I'm scrolling down and scrolling down, and there's a yellow box towards that bottom of the article containing a section of a tattoo that I recognize very well! What you waiting for? Click here, and scroll down! Iz on teh internets! Weird thing is that while I willing submitted both mine and Chris' HP tattoos to BME, I've never been able to find them again using their search engine.

Busy backson

So much to do, so little time to write about it!

I've had most of the week off. Haven't been to work since Tuesday. And that's all good by me! Lots of time left to do fun things! BBQd on Wednesday and watched some LOTR, went to see 1408 with a friend from work yesterday, got some knitting done, bought a new purse/bag/thing that I need to re-decorate. Dropped the car off for maintenance this morning (Plug for Billy's Shell here. I *love* those guys!), going to meet Chrises for lunch, plant my pineapple top, sew together a couple of blankies for a shower tomorrow (I'm always down to the line with shower gifts. It's one of the many reasons that I don't attend showers of any sort, except on very special occasions such as this one.), and starting on the Cornelius Fudge Lime Green Bowler. I've got about half of the laundry done, I'd like to do some updating on Ravelry, and I can hear a cheese biscuit in the kitchen calling out to me to consume it now. Whew! I better get going!

Good thing my work week is over tomorrow...

...because I just got my invite, and I wouldn't be doing much work the rest of the week even if I were at the office! So go friend me! I'm idyllicchick. Duh. =)
