Slight cold + Tired puppies after four days at puppy camp + a Wii/DDR x-mas + Working second shift = Sleeping in until 8:30!

So I got off work a little early yesterday (Thank you Lorena!), and headed to Charlie and Marcy and Jack and Finn and Unborn Child's house to hang with the in-laws for a bit. As always, good clean fun. Hanging and eating and having a drink. One of the Jax-in-laws asked us to go ahead and join them at the beach that night instead of waiting to leave on Monday. I was only confused for a couple of hours due to the change in plans! =) C&I packed up enough toys and clothes to stay in Jax for weeks. We made it here, had (another) drink, and went to Ragtime for dinner. More drinks (Can you sense the continuing holiday tradition here?) and great food, then home for (Guess what!) drinks and Wii, driving by a couple of decorated houses along the way.

Slept like a rock last night, and the drinking has begun again with Bailey's and coffee. Bagels soon, and some Wii. And knitting! Lots of knitting on hand today. And baking. Yes, baking. I'm going to bake cookies for my brother-in-law for x-mas. That's how much I like him! Lorena sent me a recipe for bacon chocolate chip cookies that I think he'll adore. Gotta wrap up a few gifties, and we'll be well on our way to a happy x-mas week-ish. I hope you all have a lovely holiday!

I do believe my selvages are getting better!

All of my data has been moved over to Dorothy! Squeeee! I know that was all supposed to happen the other night, but there were weird keyboard/mouse things afoot. I'm so excited to be able to pick up my whole desktop and take it with me to the living room, or to work, or to West Virginia! It's going to take me a couple of days to get my *desk's* top in good working order, but that'll happen soon enough. Gotta get a bluetooth keyboard and mouse (The current ones are merely wireless.), and get my monitor raised up with room for the notebook underneath it. And get all of these receipts entered into the checkbook so they can be thrown away. Oh! And new speakers! I think my current ones were brought home from work like seven years ago. They are big and clunky and yellowed white and have no place in the world of my smooooth sultry desk.

Lots of things to do today! And none of them involve bathing or leaving the house. After falling asleep last night at 9:15, the best Snakebite in the world not even completely drunk, (Drunken? Drunked? Definitely not drunken, because it was my first one.) I'm rip roaring ready to go.

Right now I'm enjoying a cuppa and getting to know Dorothy a little bit better while I finish watching Walk the Line. Bravo has been rerunning the first season of Project Runway, so I'll watch the ones I've got recorded while I get Chris' new hat onto another set of needles. Seems that Schroeder decided that my single 20" Addi Turbo would work better as two 10" Addi Singles. Well, the little guy is wrong about that. But he's such a delicate flower he barely touched the yarn. Ooo, gotta block the x-mas gift hat I made as well. Hrm, and maybe update my Ravelry page.

Lessee, what else? Oh! I think I'll clean up the craft room some. Maybe get an idea for some shelves or drawers or some kind of organizational stuffs so that I can actually see what I have in there. (Shit, did the fucking heat turn off? Crikey.) Cubbies, maybe, with bins in them? Something. Anything would be better than the mish mash of industrial shelving and stacked Rubbermaid bins that I'm muddling through with now. Hopefully I'll end up boxing up a goodly amount of crap to take to Goodwill.

Holy cow! Did you know that Shel Silverstein wrote "A Boy Named Sue"? Cool! I love having teh Internets handy while watching tv. =)

As per one readers' (Yes, reader with an 's'. There is actually more than one of you.) request, here's the scoop on my new (It's my first!) laptop. It's a Dell XPS M1530. The sedan of the XPSs. Not as small and cute as the M1330, but not the huge SUV style of the M2010. Just right. It *is* sportscar red, though.

Tomorrow he's going to move all of my desktop stuff into her and she'll be my everyday machine.

C&I gave Santa the finger this year and opened our x-mas gifts last night. And you know what? It was *really* fun! No magic gone, no x-mas day completely ruined. We see it as getting an extra week and a half to enjoy our booty.

We decorated the tree and drank some eggnog. Lowered the lights and put on some music. The dogs laid down at our feet and we passed wrapped packages back and forth. And it was perfectly lovely! We stayed up late messing with my new laptop (Yes, I was surprised!) and playing Wii (Yes, he was surprised! Shockingly so! And here I thought I wasn't any good at lying anymore. At least I felt guilty about the deception.). Tonight and tomorrow will be Playstation time. Dunno when ukulele time will be, but soon, I'm sure.

So Santa visited our house last night, but he won't let me open my gifts! Is that big box the size of a laptop? Or a Playstation? Or both in one box?! The flat box sounds like it has lots of little things in it. I CAN'T WAIT FOR X-MAS!

Geez, I know I don't blog for shit anymore. So I'd like to take this opportunity of being tagged by the lovely Ms. Jacquie to tell you seven random things about myself.

1. If money were no object, I would have a pick-up truck, a large four-door sedan, his and hers motorcycles, and a foxy hot exotic red sportscar. And maybe a golf cart. With those little pom-poms on a string hanging from around its roof.

2. I plan to live in a dome someday.

3. I love to acquire plants, but I tend to forget to do things like water them and cover them up when it freezes outside. Therefore, the living plants that remain at my house are very hardy.

4. I don't rinse off my teaspoon because the little ring of tea that it leaves on the countertop bugs the hell out of my husband.

5. I lost all of my high school yearbooks sometime in the past 12 years. As much as I hated high school and the people who I went to high school with, I kind of miss those books.

6. The first Christmas that I was with Chris, his mom gave me a cool artsy laminated photo of him taken the day that he & I met. On the back of it she put a calendar for the following year. That way if C&I broke up, at least one side of the photo would still be useful for me.

7. I am considering donating my body to the Body Farm when I die. After, of course, willing my various flayed tattoos to my friends. If you have a particular one in mind for yourself, speak up now.
