The hair shirt is complete!
Just in the nick of time for our cold spell tonight, I finished knitting my Twinkle Dress! Many thanks to my lovely partner and co-worker who overlooked the fact that I should have gotten our tax info turned in to the accountant today and really all I did at work was knit like a bat out of hell.
I did make a couple of modifications to the pattern: I knit it sweater length instead of dress length, I didn't do the set up rows for the cables as described (I kind of left out that row completely.), I (Mistakenly, but no one but you will be any the wiser) added a stockinette panel on the inside of the cuff, and because I really don't understand the concept of a garment being exactly the same on both the front and the back (Come on. How do you tell which side of your shirt goes behind you and which goes in front of you? Besides where the tag is? The back of the neck is higher than the front!), I put a short row on the back of the neck to make the collar higher in the back. Tessa and I agree that we should have knit this from the top down, and were I to knit this garment again, I would do exactly that. The main reason? Is because after even knitting up my original swatch into the sweater, I had exactly this much yarn left. Yowza. Bring on the cold! I am *so* ready. Pictures tomorrow!

Oscar
As in years past, Chris and I sat down to watch the Oscars this past weekend and said, 'Gosh, we haven't seen any of these movies.' Netflix has made it easy to remedy that for pictures past. They have a list of all previous Oscar winning movies, with links to each for ease of queue-age. With that, our bucket list has been started. I guess we'll have to actually watch the nominated movies next year, though, to keep from saying that we haven't seen them when Oscar time comes around again.

Ow.
My eyes have been itchy and watery for a couple of months now. According to teh interwebs I could have allergies, conjunctivitis, dry eye syndrome, excessively watery eyes, or have had chemotherapy. Maybe it's my soap. I'll change that today, and if the itchy and watery continues, I'll get some eye drops or something. This is just very irritating. And watery. Ow.

Chris has already started a pot of chili for dinner tonight. It smells so. Freaking. Good. I can't wait to get home from work and eat dinner! It's going to be a very long day.

The Bag Ho Cometh
Unlike some of my close friends (Unca Joe has determined that it's genetic, so it's ok.), I've never been much of a bag ho. It wasn't incredibly long ago that I would leave the house with the following items in tow: My wallet. And my keys, but only if absolutely necessary. Then I added the cell phone. A slim one that I could fit in my other back pocket. Then came Wynona, and I had to start carrying a purse. Even though I've since allowed my permit to lapse, I've now got the iPod and lip stuff and sometimes a camera and cold medicine and crap. So I've resigned myself to being a bag carrier for life.
Long story short, I finally got a bag that holds it all in a neat and organized fashion, fashionably. And I can also bring along my knitting, which was previously in a completely separate bag all on its own. So that's *two* bags I was carrying. Now one absolutely huge bag. It's bigger than I expected, even though I knew the exact dimensions of it before ordering it. And I hate that it makes me look like someone who must have every single item that I own with me at all times. But I am what I am, and I can carry enough shit with me now to survive on a deserted island by myself for a week, and not be bored. Best thing about it? I can even bring along Dorothy if I like:
