Yes. I’m totally skipping around on KCBW. I knew I wouldn’t be able to do every day, so I’m just trying to do whichever days I can on the days that they are due.
So today’s topic is: How do you keep your yarn wrangling organised?
Short answer: Pretty well, I believe!
Long answer: A couple of years ago I decided that my craft storage room needed a bit of a facelift. I got a set of cubbies and some hanging bin thingies, and got to work sorting my yarn, fabric, and projects. While I was at it I took the time to go through my yarn stash and divide it into sock yarn, sweater quantity yarns, nice yarns, not so nice yarns, Chris’ yarn, fiber, and little bits of yarn. Since I’ve been trying to purchase less yarn, it’s been pretty darn easy to keep the organisation going! I can’t say that I can always put my hand on the skein that I am looking for in two minutes or less, but I can hit it pretty quickly most of the time. Hrm, at only a ‘most of the time’ rate, perhaps it’s time to upload my stash to Ravelry, eh?
