Remember Long Way Round from February? In this one Ewan and Charlie take their bikes from the northern-most tip of Scotland to Cape Town, South Africa. Not quite as amazing as the first one, but fun none-the-less!

The Grifters
This is one of those movies that I never think I've seen. Then I start watching it and am all, 'Oh yeah! I've seen this!' I like this movie enough that I should remember it.
Get Low
A movie that tells an intriguing, simple story very well. Nicely paced, character driven. I loved it. I really loved it.

Sigh. One of the few movies with a sappy happy ending that I truly enjoy.
when i was in art school, in the very early 80s, we lived in the bryson apartments building near downtown LA where the grifters was shot. then it was a place art students would live (before otis art institute moved out of their 75-year-old historically entailed location a block way to somewhere soulless out by the airport somewhere:( those great bronze cage elevators the old desk guy used to sometimes take us up in and everything. sometimes we also used to sneak up to the rooftop level, which was the old closed down peely-wallpaper ballroom, for reals. when i left art school and got a job as an exec.secretary at a porn mag, my friends used to line up in that cavernous red lobby in the morning to make fun of me going to work in my power suit :D it was one of my two favorite places i've lived. i only left it when the old gang broke up and i decided for some reason that i had to move to nyc...
