Movies I Watched in June, 2011

The Cook, the Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover

One of my favorite movies.

The Silence of the Lambs

A classic, yes, and I love it, yes. But mostly watching it tonight because it's on our Academy Award list.

The Day the Earth Stopped

A film by C. Thomas Howell. With Judd Nelson. Rated with two stars. I'm at the edge of my seat. Really. At least it's short.

X-Men: First Class

A movie in a theatre! Really enjoyed it, too.

X-Men

Had to catch up after seeing the new film last night.

Breaking Glass

How did I even find out about this flick? Regardless, a much more interesting film than I expected. 1980 punk scene England about a lead singer dealing with the price of becoming mainstream. Heheh, a short little 'the show much go on' scene is in there, but this was released two years before The Wall was. Hrm.

The Blind Side

I'm sure you know I'm not much for the weepy, Disney-esque kind of flick, which this movie totally is. But it's also about how good people will do good things selflessly. And I like that. Best scene: Kathy Bates talking about the Body Farm!

The Watchmen

Loved the comic book, love the film. There had been talk of making The Watchmen movie for years and years before it came to fruition. I'm glad it didn't happen until the technology allowed for it to be done well.

Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

It ain't no Harry Potter, but it was better than I expected. And Sean Bean lives!

Exit Through the Gift Shop

Not too bad! Interesting, but not much of a point.

The Princess Bride

Rest in peace, Peter Falk.

Whale Rider

Recommended by Marie. Not bad at all. Not really my style of movie. The acting was very good!

Adaptation

Why don't I watch this every day?! What a wonderful film! Chris Cooper is just incredible.
